Andrea Quaid

Andrea Quaid’s work focuses on poetry and poetics, pedagogy, and feminist studies. She is co-editor of Acts + Encounters, a collection of works about contemporary experimental writing and community, and of A Primer, a J2 Commentary series on Los Angeles poetry. Publications include albeit, American Book Review, BOMBlog, Feminist Spaces, Jacket2, Lana Turner, LIT and the Los Angeles Review of Books as well as forthcoming book chapters on Bhanu Kapil’s Schizophrene and on feminist pedagogy and restorative justice. She is a faculty member of Bard College’s Language and Thinking Program (New York), and the Master of the Teaching Arts Program (Los Angeles). She also teaches in the Critical Studies Department at the California Institute of the Arts.

Andrea’s article, co-authored with Emily Abendroth  Karen Lepri, and Robin Tremblay-McGaw, “Variations on a Theme: Teaching Claudia Rankine’s Citizen: An American Lyric,” appears in albeit 4.2: Black Lives Matter.
